1. Going to college makes it easier to find a job and a better paying job. That little piece of paper (a diploma) proves to the world and to an employer that you are willing to take the time to devote to your life and your work.

2. Networking. You can meet important people that will be helpful to you or you to them for the rest of your life, everyone from friends, business associates, and clients.

3. Education. Find out about the topic you're interested in studying, especially speciallized skills and fields of study. If you're interested in becoming a specialist on a given subject, college is probably the best place to go.

4. Fulfilling a personal goal. Prove to yourself that you can do it.

5. Impress others. People around you will have a higher opinion of you if you are a college graduate.

All of the high paying jobs now require special skills; and sometimes if you and a person with the same kind of degrees qnd qualifications are up for the same job, you would get it if they could see on your resume that you were educated at a good school (it will make them feel like u will do a better job, because you had superior training). Trust me. Also it will provide you with good life experience. It will help you learn how to live on your own away from your family, and makes the transition into the real world a lot easier. Also you'll make a lot of friends, and might make some good connections that can help you business wise, later on in life. It also wil give you some experience in the field you choose, and you'll get to see if thats really what u want to spend your life doing.

Hi. I'm in 8th grade, too, and I think that it's good that you're having to find out why college is important. College is such a big deal because it pretty much prepares you for the rest of your life. If you go to college, you probably will have a better chance at getting a well-paying career, too, which matters a lot to some people. My teacher says that her college days were the best days of her life, so I think college is going to be pretty fun. Good luck on your paper!

If's for the better future I think. It's difference between making living by doing something you hate, or doing something you love. It's not easy not going to college and doing something you love for living.
