For one thing there's always only THREE things for each showcase. I remember days when there were always at least four and sometimes five. Also, some of the prizes are so crappy!! I was watching it today and one of the prizes was a crappy cell phone!! A cell phone on the showcase that's ridiculous I miss seeing good prizes!! Other sucky things I've seen in the showcase are gumball machines and art supplies. What in the hell are people going to do with a gumball machine...no one would use that to decorate their house with. And also who wants art supplies??? I'd be so upset if I won a lifetime supply of colored pencils and markers lol. And also they don't have showcases with TWO cars like they sometimes used to have :( What's happening to the show cuz it's starting to stink :(

Ohhh, I agree! But the worst prize was a year's supply of donuts which you must've missed just recently........... although I do enjoy watching the shocked expressions on the contestants' faces. It's pretty rare to watch showcases with cars on both of em.

A lot of the prizes have to do with what sponsors are willing to give away to have their products promoted on the show. Now, we all know that The Price is Right has been sucking for many, many years, and viewers have gone down, so why would any company give away an expensive item just to have their company promoted on the show when they can just give a cheap item and get the same result.

Think of TPIR as the WNBA championship: Nobody watches it. So that's why companies don't give out expensive prizes.

You're absolutely right, and it's happening on other shows that use to be good. Remember Wheel of Fortune, and how you got to shop with your money? I liked that. Now it's just the money and size of the prize. I use to like seeing what people would pick when they had a choice. Bring Back the Old Days!!!

It's just really outdated, there is nowhere new to go and I'm certain things are donated and not bought so it pretty much based on whose willing to advertise through the show.

well they are probably running out of ideas and cash, the price is right isn't the best game show anymore and they probably have to take the cheap route....
