You shouldn't be ashamed of your stand. I'm sure you can find others who don't drink.

If you feel you need an excuse...
You can say that you don't like the taste or
There is a family history of addiction & you don't want to risk it. (if there is one...)

I'm also in college and dont drink much, basically what i say is that i dont need alcohol to have fun, and also i get really annoyed being around people who are drunk because they act so stupid and it just irritates me. some other people who dont drink because they get an allergic reaction to alcohol...i would just rather do something else more exciting than getting drunk and not knowing what happend the night before
hope this helps :)

Well if you need a good “comeback”………….

“ My friends mean allot to me and they do dumbA^% things when their drinking !! I stay sober so I can protect them from their own stupid mistakes when their drinking !!”

Bet there isn’t anyone who hasn’t seen a drunk friend do something ignorant when drunk??!!

Or tell them, I don’t need booze to be happy or “fit in”.

so you don't know why you don't drink? you must have some reasoning as to why not...or else you would be drinking. maybe you like having control of your actions? maybe it's for religious reasons? maybe you don't want it to interfere with your grades? you must have a reason.

i am in my freshman year and going through the same thing. i think everyone here is right. it's no one's business and a basic "because i don't want to" or just "no thanks" usually works for me. way to go on choosing to stay concious, lol.
