DIDDY ft. Keisha Cole?

Why is Diddy taking credit 4 this song. Its basically Keisha Cole ft. Diddy. How come songs like this, another example....Break It Off by Rihanna FT. Sean Paul....is more like Sean Paul ft. Rihanna.
Why do the artists that do the less work (especially talentless ones like Diddy who attempts to sing) get the credit?
