I know how you feel.
My husband and I made friends with a nice couple though scuba diving.

She told us she was a nurse. We found out she was a prostitute and her husband once use to be one as well back in his home country..

It shocked the hell out of us. Things were never the same again.
Needless to say we don't see them any more.

In your case, if it doesn't bother you, remain friends.

What does it really matter? Are these people still your friends/relatives? Get over your inhibitions and let them live their life. Perhaps those persons are paying their way through med school or whatever and not getting any monetary suport from you or their own relatives at all. Strippers/Exotic Dancers are not all scum of society degenerants many of them are respectable persons getting paid for their artistry. And making more money that you or I in one night. If you don't like it, then pay all their bills for them and stop belittleing their choices. Keep it up and they will disown you completely. Do you want that?

All of us? None of us know this person, so it would seem of little consequence to us.

As for you, if this is someone you care about, then be supportive and respectful regardless of the nature of the job.

Yes, go see him perform, have fun and be supportive. Hopefully he is staying out of the drug scene. That can be a big downer.

go visit him at work and see how professional he is, tip him big bucks, tell him to give it back at end of night, to see how good of a friend he is.
