Dezmond
Gaelic: Spelling variation of Desmond
Desmond
Irish: From Desmond; an area of South Munster, one of the four provinces of Ireland
I think that it is a nice name, either way that it is spelled.

I knew a guy (older brother of my best friend in school) whose name was Desmond. It means "One from Desmond" which is in South Munster, Ireland. It was a nice name, though he DID get teased a bit when younger - Desi, Desiree, etc. You know that boys will ALWAYS try to find a way to turn a name "girly" in that stage, though. *grin*
I've never seen it with the "z" spelling, but I would imagine it's along the same lines.

It reminds me of Desi like Desi Arnaz but yes it is a nice name.
Desmond Meaning "one from Desmond," Desmond being an area of South Munster, one of the four provinces of Ireland. Popular diminutives are Des and Dessie.

From a surname which was derived from Gaelic Deas-Mhumhan meaning "from south Munster". Munster is a province in Ireland which was once an ancient Irish kingdom.
It's a very masculine name....and not too popular (which is a good thing in my book!)
=) Very nice.

its usually spelled with an s. honestly with the z its little over the top and evokes thought of a gay guy who just upgraded by suddenly throwing a z in there lol.

Its funny how esp. with names that arent so common when you hear it, it reminds you right away of some you knew with that name... Dezzy was not a great person, so I cant say much.
