I have a USB 2.0 port, which has worked before, but now when I try to plug in my flash drive or mp3 player, it says the device is not recognized and that there is a malfunction. I'm currently on Windows Vista. The flash drive works on my other computer, but isn't working on any of the three USB ports on my laptop

if you are connecting through a cable then check the cable.

vista still has incompatabilities with some of the devices, (tha's the problem with microsoft), meaning it will not be readed by the
computer unless it is supported try it on win xp or 98 and it will work fine, vista is a crap...for me because it will phase out almost all pc's due to its incompatability problems....c what i mean??.>>>>>>>>>><<<<<<<<<<
