Hugo Chavez and Mahmoud Ahmadinejad (of Iran) have been very friendly lately. This is amazing to me, considering the difference between their ideologies. However, apparently both are operating on the principle of "The enemy of my enemy is my friend."
Saddam Hussein was not an Islamist, just a regular tyrant. So maybe Chavez feels more in common with him even than he does with Ahmadinejad.
That is very troubling. It is one thing to ally oneself with somebody one doesn't like, to fight somebody worse, as the US did with Stalin in WWII. It is something else entirely to show real sympathy with an odious dictator by invoking his memory in opposition to a democratically elected government. Remember, Saddam wasn't killed by the US, but by the Iraqi government. T

Yes, but from the point of view of a Brazilians, the United States attacked a sovereign nation on pretenses that have since been proven beyond a reasonable doubt to be inaccurate at best, and quite probably fabricated to promote the agendas and retirement accounts of a few greedy, short-sighted old boys. We invaded a sovereign nation that did not pose a clear and present danger to us. From their point of view, Hussein was murdered. Quite frankly, I see their point.
To those who would give me a thumbs down: is your idea of "Supporting Our Troops" a yellow bumper sticker? Bet you think you're really patriotic. How the heck does that help? My idea is to get our young men and women out of harm's way and now. Also, I bet you think I'm a bleeding heart liberal. I can just about guarantee that I'm more conservative than you. I'm furious with GWB because, as George Castanza would say, "I don't have hand". Thanks to this imbecile and his cronies, I have lost the moral high ground that used to give me the standing that allowed me to criticize domestic liberals like Nancy Pelosi and Ted Kennedy, as well as foreign loudmouths like Hugo Chavez and Fidel Castro.

These protestors are dangerously insane like the dictator whose picture they carry. Isn't it amazing that despite the U.S. leading the world in foreign aid, that all of these nations hate us? If we get our act together soon, and quit giving technology and money to China and the Middle East, our country might wind up surviving. But thats if, and only if we quit outsourcing jobs, and develop ethanol technology and pursue other forms of alternative energy. Of course, we could drill for oil in Anwar, the Midwest, and the Gulf Of Mexico (all of which have more oil than the proven reserves of the terrorist nation known as saudi arabia. But alas, liberalism is a mental disorder...

think about what you just said.
sadaam - crazy dictator who uses his power to wipe out thousands of people in the middle east in an atempt to control the flow of oil.
bush - crazy dictator who uses his power to wipe out thousands of people in the middle east in an atempt to control the flow of oil.
i believe they are actually comparing bush to sadaam, not showing their support for one or the other.
