Last night I dreamt that a horrible storm passing over my house. But it wasn't your normal thunderstorm. The bright blue sky turned black and lightning was fierce. Then I remember taking cover in a room in our basement with my family and the floors in the basement started to sway up and down like there was water underneath, like the house was being swept away by the water.
It was so freaky and I thought about it all day. What can it mean?

Dream interpretations for :

Storm
To see a storm in your dream, signifies overwhelming struggle, shock, devastating loss and catastrophe in your personal affairs. The storm also represents unexpressed fears or emotions, such as anger, rage, turmoil, etc. On a more positive note, the storm signifies the rising of spirit within.

To dream that you take cover in a storm, foretells that whatever disturbance or problems is occurring in your life will quickly blow over. Consider also the phrase "weather the storm", which suggests your ability and strength to withstand whatever comes.

House
To see a house in your dream, represents your own soul and self. Specific rooms in the house indicate a specific aspect of your psyche. In general, the attic represents your intellect, the basement represents the unconscious, etc. If the house is empty, then it indicates feelings of insecurity. If the house is shifting, then it suggests that you are going through some personal changes and changing your belief system. If you live with others in your walking life, but dream that you are living alone, suggests that you need to take new steps toward independence. You need to accept responsibilities and be more self-reliant.

Sky
To look up at the clear blue sky in your dream, denotes peace and freedom of expression. If the sky is cloudy and overcast, then it foretells of sadness and trouble.

In a dream you take on board the main factors I hope the information gives you some insight as it is you dream so it is for you to work with : ) always remember a house or building represents yourself and water is your emotions

have you been watching the news lately?
dreams are highly affected by our subconcious ,and concious imput ,
Thing's that we absorb during the day or night or over the months and years , sometimes events or colours conversations daily stress can trigger off the subconcious .

while your a sleep the brain will still be active and depending on the amount of rest you have had ,
will depend on the amount of release that the brain needs to un load

(The build up of imput that it has recieved)

The brain does this by releasing your concious and subconcious thoughts and imput by downloading throughts and images we receive or have past received and then in no proper order mixes it all up and releases it through confused data such as dreams ,

If while you were awake and emotionally rested you would proberbly find that you would dream less or more peacefully during the time which you were sleeping, becuse the brain would have used its deciphering methods during the awake time that you spent relaxing in other word what the brain felt it needed to off load and put in the basement for awhile.

( being all the unneccercary and un- used information that your brain currently is storing but not using )

Also another point you should avoid eating meat or heavy meals before you sleep as this will cause you to have very bad dreams ,
because its harder to break down food when your sleeping and not active and this results in stress on the brain hence bad dreams usually will follow .

Some people have diffrent patterns of dreaming , some people sleep walk and carry out rather unusual or typical daily activities all whilst fast asleep (sleep walking)

The brain is very complex indeed , I 'm sure in your case it was just a nightmare?
try not to focus to much on the meaning too much
unless your Allison Deboir from that show Medium ?

then you might want to look into it it a little deeper...smile

sleep well

It sounds as if you have been going through some highly emotional turmoil lately. (Dark sky) Lots of arguing and fighting. (Lightning) You may feel like hiding from it or trying to avoid it, but the turbulence persists even when you do this. (Basement, undulating floor. water translates to emotion in dreams) The house represents you, your physical body. Don't allow yourself to be "swept away" by it.

Your dream may have meaned something significant or maybe not. Dreams are your subconcious minds playtime. Your dream could mean that you are just going through some tough times.

Something on the news scared your subconscious; maybe it was that horrible tornado that tore up Alabama and Georgia last week.

The brain unwinds at night and lets all its freaky information defrag: you dream means nothing.

You maybe be feeling overwhelmed with everything. Sounds like a hurricane/flood dream. Make sure all your insurance is uptodate, and full flood and hurricane insurance. Peace of mind.

If the water was clear, means something new is coming in your life, when this does come into your life, don't run away from it, it will be good.

Dreams mean absolutely nothing.

Why everyone thinks that their dreams are somehow premonitions is beyond me. Maybe they've seen too many movies...

We have many, many dreams over the course of a night and it just so happened that you remember this one... possibly because of it's vividness.

Sometimes your brain is just dumping the junk of the day, so you get these odd dreams that have no real basis in everything
