We have enough social classes to deal with, in life I'm surprised Yahoo did it without consent ..........some people don't want to be pointed out...

Well I have this distintion.I don't know why or how.I never even noticed it until two davs ago.Personally I disagree with yahoo putting labels on people. Here I see some resentment to this new idea. Please be aware I did'nt set out to be different. If you care to check some of my answers(except political)I think you'll find that I'm doing what this forum was set up to do.Ask if you need advice or answer if you feel you can help another questioner.I readily admit I'm a garnisher of points.Ultimately the asker or the voter decides whose is best answer.I would like it to remain so.Not people voting for or against a person because they have stripes or otherwise identified.

It doesn't really matter to me. It is just an useless title, as useless as the points you get for your answers. I was impressed, yesterday, by this lady (?) who had a 57% of best answered, but, when I checked, I saw that many of them were chosen by voters, and she almost always won with 2 votes, which made me believe that she has 2 accounts on Y/A and she votes for herself twice. Not impressed anymore.
What I'd like to have on Y/A is the possibility to choose more than 1 answer as best or, at least, to give some points to the second and the third best answers.

Just so you know, it has nothing to do with smarts...the Top Contributor label is one that reflects your CONTRIBUTION to a certain category, not used as a marker for Best Answers.

It just means that you have answered so many questions in a particular category....sheesh.

Don't worry, you'll get there.

Not particularly since it seems to only illuminate the fact that many of us spend waaaaay too much time on Yahoo Answers! I mean, it isn't even saying that people gave "good" answers...just that they answered a whole lot of questions!

Actually, I like the top contributor designation. First of all, it gives the competitive people the benchmark to try to beat. Secondly, it gives us an idea of who has been more knowledgeable about a subject.

I don't mind; I just wish I knew what it means. Yahoo has given no explanation (at least that I have found) of how they choose these.
