It would have been better if you had purchased them sooner. Since you are leaving on Sunday, it isn't like you have a lot of time to spread the cost of the tickets over a period of months. (this is what we usually do- then by the time we go the tickets have been paid for and that is one worry we dont deal with.)

In Dec. of last year we made a trip on short notice, so we just bought all of our tickets at the gates.

One investment I would make before you go is to purchase a decent guidebook. (or to save money, go to the bookstore or library and just browse!) As far as choosing which parks to go to and how to save money....only YOU and your GF can choose where to go. That is a big matter of preference. I have been to Disney World and Universal- both are a lot of fun, but I personally prefer Disney World. Others may prefer Universal.

On what to spend your money on- if you plan on purchasing something at one of the parks- make sure it is something you will use again. I also make sure that it SAYS where I got it. For example: a beach towel that has Disney World printed on it rather than just something that has a pic of Mickey Mouse. You can get things with Mickey just about anywhere, including back home!

Consider sharing a meal. We have found that it is often less expensive to purchase, say, a larger burger meal and split it, than buy 2 small burger meals. This isn't a big difference but sometimes you can cut a few corners in one place and splurge a bit in others.

Have a great vacation. Wherever you decide to go- when you first get there, take a few minutes to view the maps that they give out. Read up on some of the rides & shows and try to decide what you think sounds really interesting to you, then make sure you get to see it. Also, you might be surprised by some of the "shows" you might come across accidentally. Last year in Universal we met up with "Doc Brown" from Back to the Future, "Marilyn Monroe" and "Zorro" while in Universal. No one else was stopping to see them so we got to take SOO many photos with these characters. Then at Disney MGM, I had a wonderful encounter with an "Italian director" who fell in love with me!! lol It was so much fun to play along, so if you come across things like this, don't be shy!

Ok. Disney tickets I know if you buy them on the website, www.disneyworld.com ahead of time you get around a 10% discount which is the cheapest avalible to the general public. I would say that is your best bet. As far as Universal and Seaworld go, Theme Parks are making there best offers online these days. SeaWorld I know is having a great offer right now. Good luck and I hope this helps.

AAA can offer discount tickets, you can also buy your disney tickets ahead at disney stores in your local mall. Also, check your hotel, they can offer discount one day tickets to the attractions. i would suggest a 3 day hopper pass to disney and buy it before you leave.that way you can go to as many of the disney parks as you want in 3 days and still leave time for universal and sea world. i love sea world. check online for discount tickets that you can by online and pick up at the will call center ( to the left of the ticket booths). universal has been advertising that their tickets are cheaper than disney and they also have a hopper pass, but be leary of the skip the line addition, it is really expensive. also, be prepared to spend around $10 to park per day per park. diseny lets you pay once and park at any of the parks for the day. also take into account all of the extras, sea world, $5 for 4 fishes if you want to feed the dolphins and $30 for a picture of you feeding them. I love disney, universal, and seaworld. my husband and i have been to orlando 6 times in the past 4 years. we have done week long trips and 4 day trips, you can cram a lot in for not that much money if you can plan it right.

Most of the parks offer a slight discount for online ticket sales, there are also many multi-park/multi-day passes and packages that you will see. Here are the official websites for the big three:

Walt Disney World
http://www.disneyworld.com

SeaWorld Orlando
http://www.seaworldorlando.com

Universal Orlando
http://www.universalorlando.com

Have Fun!

Lines are long. Try sites such as AAA.
Avoid internet sites with cheap tickets; all are timeshare.

Universal and Islands of Adventure is Great.
Disneys Animal Kingdom is good.
EPCOT is good, too.
Magic Kingdom, Sea World, and MGM studios are OK.

i think seaworld is the cheapest. if you buy the ticket ahead of time you wont have to wait in a line for it when you get there.
