Jennifer Nettles of Sugarland
A country music version of the song performed with Jennifer Nettles was released and became the first song by a rock band to reach number one on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. It also received an award for Best Collaborative Video at the Country Music Television Awards in 2006. The version featuring Nettles is slightly different to the album version, with a number of edits made to make the song slightly shorter - for example, the "It's alright" bridge after the second chorus was cut out, with the guitar solo coming in straight after the second chorus. The song was the 5th highest selling country song of 2006.
Some interesting trivia about the song:
The song has been used in tourism ads for Bon Jovi's home state of New Jersey.
The song was performed when Bon Jovi and Sugarland's Jennifer Nettles headlined NASCAR's Daytona 500 at the beginning of the 2006 NASCAR season.
The song was featured in the Pilot episode of the CBS drama Jericho.
The song was featured in an episode of The West Wing, which featured Jon Bon Jovi in a guest appearance. The episode was named after another song on the Have A Nice Day album, "Welcome To Wherever You Are".

Bon Jovi isn't the 1st to do it and is easily not the final. Bret Michaels from Poison did it, Elvis did it, base line nonetheless is So What? as long as they're doing what they choose to do and their followers can delight in it and that they are in a position to p.c.. up some greater followers alongside the way then this isn't any massive deal. besides I even have heard songs from lost highway on the two country stations and dad stations and rather did not think of too lots approximately it. this is almost cool to hearken to artists who attempt new issues with out being concerned in the event that they sell a hundred or a million million records, and are not frightened of branching out and attempting new issues.
