Some vendor are cheating by claiming higher GB memory of flash drive while actually it don't store the claimed capacity, altough the computer read in the properties option the claimed memory or GB.

Can a USB Flash drive wrongly show its memory capacity higher than actual in its properties window.I am telling of showing 2GB memory pendrive which actualy not storing more than 1GB. Some vendors selling high capacity flashdrive having actualy low memory in this way. Is this possible?

a very minor part of the USB drive is used for storing driver related files which are usually hidden.. that shoudnt take up more than 500 kb. check to make sure you have the correct drivers installed

well, its because windows is actually using some of the memory in the flash disk.. i think 500k per 1byte so if you have 10gb, then the computer will only show 9.5gb..
