Is there anyone on here that truly considers themselves a moderate. It seems that most people who spend their free time on political forums probably arn't moderate and have very stong views against the opposite party. Just wondering.

I believe I hold "moderate" views, though I feel most strongly about the positions which I am in league with Conservatives on, primarily American foreign policy and taxes.

In example: Against the death penalty, pro-choice (but would never support anyone considering having one), not a member of any organized religion (but have unending respect for the Christian majority in America, their historical significance, and their power in our politics, and their shaping of our moral foundations), would vote for Lieberman in a heartbeat. And, I liked Bill Clinton, personally, though not his tax/economic policies. He was a world-class leader, no doubt, smart, an excellent speaker, a great international statesman. I'm pro-immigration, anti-affirmative action. I'm for gay marriage (barely), but against sex-ed in schools, or any conversations having anything to do with sexuality in schools.

In short, I think my stands are reasoned, not based on any particular agenda or religious moral position.

I consider myself a moderate, both because I grant that most political viewpoints are valid to some degree, and because my own personal views don't fit into the liberal-conservative spectrum.

The reason I'm on the Politics and Government forums is that it's part of the same cluster as Law and Ethics. If Law and Ethics were somewhere else (say, under Philosophy or Sociology), then that's where my spill-over time would go.

Yeah. I'm guilty of being a moderate. It's tough getting lost in the shuffle.

I tend to be a moderate on several issues. But like most people, I do become sensitive when it comes to certain issues.

yep, moderate with a right lean. I do have a nasty habit of answering fanatical questions with wiseass comments, but I respect people (on both sides) that post truly intellectual questions.

Very few. Moderates are an endangered species.

I'm a moderate, in that I'm neither liberal or conservative. In reality, my politics are so atypical they are at right angles to the normal right/left.

We need a party that fits my needs:

Fiscally conservative yet socially liberal. The current admin doesn't meet either requirement!

Moderates tend to be be middle-of-the-road-I don't want to offend anyone type individuals. They are easily led.
