Pregnancy is always a possibility when having sex, even when using birth control.

However, the effectiveness of BC pills depends on a lot of factors, including whether or not the woman has been taking them every day at the EXACT same time, whether or not she is taking some kind of antibiotics (some have shown to decrease pill effectiveness), if she has had diarrhea or vomited within 3 hours of taking the pill, or if she has been using back-up methods (condoms, diaphragm, spermicide, etc.).

With perfect use, the pill is over 99% effective, and even with typical use, the pill is still 92% effective.

I did. My case was that I got a stomach flu which caused my body to not absorb the hormones in the pills. Now I am glad that they failed because I have an amazing little girl...
but anyway, the common causes for birth control pill failure are taking antibiotics, skipping too many pills or taking them at different times each day, and some evidence suggests that obese women don't use the hormones as effectively.

Its possible. But if you take your pills correctly then its like a 1% chance of it happening. I never used a condom with my husband while I was on the pill and I never got pregnant but some women do. I did get pregnant with in a month of going off of them.

Sorry if this dampers your things about the birth control. My advise is to use a condom. I wish i would have.

Yes, this is how I got my beautiful adopted daughter. Birth mother had too much to drink, ended up vommiting and well, TMI, but both ends were busy. Also, not only antibiotics but they are finding that other meds negate the pills effectiveness. No guarantees!

This girl who I knew was like 90 lbs and still got preggers on birth control.

At least pull out! Then it's like 100% as long as actual sperm isn't getting a chance to swim up your cervix
