Great question and the answer is good news for you. The first labour is like breaking the body in and is therefore so painful. The second time round your body seems to know what its doing and goes about business a lot more smoothly. Once you've had one you know to get on the gas super early, and often with the second that is all the pain relief you'll need. All of this assumes no complications of course. The woman who said her 4th labour was the most painful is right! After the 2nd they get faster which is what makes it soooo painful. By the time I was having my 5th (yes, it was a surprise to me too) I faked pain at the very beginning, got the epidural I requested then sat back and painted my nails etc. Now that's good advice....

I sure hope so I'm due in October with baby #2 and i'm scared that it will be another long 17 hour labor with complications like the first. But, at least a woman gets a great reward at the end when you get to hold your little one. Good luck

Nope. It may be different, but pain level wise, nope. It may be shorter or longer labor, just about everything could be different. Hopefully labor would be shorter, I got lucky on the second, only 5 hours, unfotunately the 3rd was 12 hours. Each baby is different. Good Luck and Congrats!

Everyone and Every Child Born is different. There is no way to tell. My sister popped her first three out like footballs, the fourth however hung on for dear life; and took forever to come. Unfortunately, all three of mine were different and BIG. So the first two took awhile to come, the third was early!
Good Luck! If you have one; you already know all the pain in the world is worth it!

Well for me the pain of the second one was more intense than the first because I went natural (unintended, the baby came too fast for an epidural).
It depends upon if u get an epidural or not. My labor was shorter with my second one as well.

The second baby was easier than the first for me and it should for you also !!!! You already know what to expect so that makes it somewhat easier. It's like the first baby digs the subway and the second baby rides it !!! It should be a piece of cake!!!!!! Good luck !!!!!!

the first toddler became fairly painful, and the labor lasted 15 hours. i became taken aback and a great deal surprised by technique of the soreness. even as the 2d toddler got here, i became very comfortable because I knew what to assume. The soreness aspect became about an identical, and it took me 15 hours (again), yet i could could say that the 2d time round became more suitable positive, in reality because I knew what to assume.

Hell No! They still come out the same way if it's a vaginal birth! lol BUT, it's a tolerable pain...obviously...or people would never have multiple children! GOOD LUCK!!

ADDITION:
My answer is based on natural childbirth...not utilizing any form of medication. It's the only way to go!

Don't think so. I'll keep my fingers crossed though for you and myself. Pain depends on babys position, size, and many other factors

Well, I doubt that labor is less painful, but it will almost certainly last much shorter.
