2x+3y=x+3
3y=x-2x+3
3y=3-x
y=1-(x/3)

2x + 3y = x + 3

Subtract 2x from each side.
2x + 3y = x + 3
-2x -2x

Now you have:
3y = 3 - x

Solving for x gives us

x = 3-3y

or

x = 3(1-y)
and solving for y gives us

(3-x)/3 = y

Hope this helps.

Your goal is to get the y by itself. Take it one step at a time. First, subtract 2x from both sides to get:

3y = x + 3 - 2x

Then, combine like terms: 3y = 3 - x

Finally, divide both sides by 3: y = (3 - x)/3 or y = 1 - x/3

Come on this too simple.

to solve for y, get all other terms on the other side of the equation first by subtracting 2x from both sides giving

3y = x + 3 + 2x, you can do this because an equation is like a balance scale, since the two sides are in balance you can add or subtract equal things from both sides (just like equal weights) and the scale (your equation will stay in balance.

Now lets add the x + 2x to get 3x and it becomes

3y = 3x +3

Now you can also just like a scale multiply or divide both sides by the same number and it will stay equal so divide by 3

and we get y = x + 3 Hope you can use this for other problems and learn from it

2x+3y=x+3
-2x -2x
3y=-x+3
y= - 1/3 x +3

step by step.

2x+3y=x+3
subtract 2x from both sides
2x-2x+3y =x+3-2x
3y=3-x
divide both sides by 3
y = (3-x) / 3

subtract 2x from both sides
3y=-x+3
now divide both sides by 3
y= -x/3 + 1
