Both of your current answers are correct with one exception. . . you don't have to be overweight to have this.
This is found in alot of drinkers and drinking makes the repercussions of this worse though it is not limited to drinkers. . . anyone any body size can have one.

Hiatal, not hiatus. It's the spot where your esophagus meets your stomach. It means it's flapping open so stomach acid gets into your espohagus. If it happened because you're overweight, you may be able to get rid of it by losing weight. Otherwise, surgery can help. The problem with allowing acid into the esophagus is that it hurts and it can lead to cancer.

Try Hiatal(?) Hernia. It is where your abdobmen has a slight hole in it and occassionally pokes into your chest cavity. It is uncomfortable, but not usually life threatening. Usually it is around your stomch area, between your ribs and stomach.

Acid in your stomach causes scars on the esophagus causing it, i read that eating apples cures acid and the hernia. hope this helps
