Every other day in the winter and use an unscented lotion so the skin doesn't dry out. In the summer, every day at least.

Obviously from all the responses, there is no hard and fast rule. At 6 months my baby was not mobile and really not doing much other than lying on her back or tummyo n the floor and being carried by me, so I tended not to bathe every day. I still don't and she is 8 months. I bathe every second day and make sure I am vigilant like others have said about the genitals and creases/folds etc on her body. Really, a baby does not get THAT dirty and not having a bath is not the end of the world.

Saying all that (phew!!) if your baby loves a bath- every day is fine - but I would not use soap all the time, just warm water does the trick! :)

There is absolutely no reason to bath a baby every day, and especially twice a day. Can you imagine how irritating to the skin that would be. I have three sons, the baby gets a bath every other day, but he does get washed up every morning and night when I don't bath him (soapy water in the sink, washed completely down all over). There is nothing that your 6 month old is doing that would render him filthy enough to require frequent bathing.

My baby didnt get very dirty at that age. I would clean her vital areas (diaper area, face, hands, and neck) every day but I would only give her a bath every other day. I read in a parenting mag that giving a baby a bath every day can dry out their hair and skin. My neighbor gave her son (5 weeks younger than my daughter) a bath every day and his skin became a little dry so she switched to every other day too. My daughter is 19 months old now and I HAVE to give her a bath every day because she goes a little crazy when she eats dinner. The bath has become part of our bedtime routine and I just make sure her skin stays soft by using baby lotion.

I would say depending on how dirty baby gets or if very hot.
If hot or dirty then daily at least. Otherwise, you can do it every 2-3 days. Just make sure that the days that you don't bathe the baby that you use a moist towelette or face cloth to clean out the creases around the neck, under the arms and between legs and knees. This will stop any infections or irritants

That's a personal decision; for my part, I feel like they get a good cleaning every day with all the baby wipes I use on their butts at that age and all the face and hand washing I do after meals, so I bathe them three or four times a week, but not every night.

I think I agree with a lot of the others. Not every day, it dries out the skin.Just keep diaper area, face & hands clean ,cause the hands always find their way to the mouth. Just use wipies. unless there is a food or bathroom accident then you use your own judgement, but probably a "real bath" in that case.More when it's hot.

if its hot where you live try to bathe the baby at least once a day if not every other day is ok but the days you don't bath your baby at least take a wet washcloth and wipe under arms butt, private area in all the baby creases so at least the baby feels fresh.

Every 2-3 days in the winter, or every 1-2 days in the summer.

I think babies should be bathed daily. You know how it feels to be dirty and smelly. Babies are no different, and I can always tell if my baby is needing a bath, as he get's restless and fussy. I do try to keep up a regular schedule, if you make bathtime as part of the bedtime routine, it helps them to settle down and also to sleep better.
