sorry, but there just isn't a good answer that doesnt include God.

if you were wondering, however, there are more than 200 things that must be perfect/just right if life were possible anywhere. Earth just 'happens' to contain all of them. many of them include
galaxy: spiral galaxy with perfect size buldge
cluster: Local Group not too tightly compact so theres not like a gravity tug-o-war between galaxies
sun just like ours
and obviously many more

Natural selection? Why did some animals thrive & others didn't. Ex: Dodo bird, passenger pigeon? what was he thinking when he invented the platypus? why are polar bears dying due to global warming? Also many species of fish which need cold water? Think about it!
