Since you have a term in the form aw^n, you can look at a and w^n independently of each other.
sqrt(w^12) is clearly w^6. sqrt(20)= sqrt (4x5). then by the same rule, sqrt(20)=2 sqrt(5), and the answer is 2w^6 sqrt(5). PS. sqrt is preferred in simple type to radical.

{ } is going to denote the square root and what is included within the square root

{20w^12}
{2*2*5*w*w*w*w*w*w*w*w*w*w*w*w}
Take out values that are paired from the square root
2*w*w*w*w*w*w{5}
Thus the answer simplifies to:
2w^6{5}
