I am writing to request the removal of the grades for the courses SC/PSYC 3250 P, SC/PSYC 3500 P and SC/PSYC 3590 P, all taken during the Winter semester of 2004.
The reason why I believe I did poorly during this semester is that my grandfather passed away on March 11th, 2004. When my grandfather started getting progressively sick, we were making a lot of phone calls to check on my grandfather's health, since he was in and out of the hospital for several months. It was a very difficult time for me to concentrate on my studying. When my grandfather passed away, my mother flew back home and left my younger brother and myself. I was put under a lot of pressure to take care of my studies and my brother and I was very upset over my grandfather's departure.
I was put under a lot of emotional distress from my grandfather's departure as well as pressure to complete the courses at school, to the best of my ability. I believe that if I was not so stressed, I would have achieved a lot better.

You must TALK to a department head (someone in charge of the department) ask them to help

You can't have grades removed, but you can challenge the grades and maybe get C to get out of the course, but if you're looking to raise them retake the classes over and get passing grades so that it's reflected on record.
