Yes. I've often made up my mind about something I've read or seen on the media. For example, I listen to politicians & decide which ones to vote for based upon their stmts & not the opinion of others who have also listened to them. The media has brought attention to the atrocities of the world (e.g. genocide). Saying that what you have seen or read by media doesn't influence you is like saying you prefer to remain ignorant of what's going on.

Editorials & columns make a person think. Or don't you prefer to think or be knowledgeable about what's happening so that you can make informed decisions?

I feel compelled to watch the news, particularly local news. That being said, the media has absolutely no effect on my beliefs. As a matter of fact I detest most people in the media. They continually misquote and make most people that get in front of a camera look like stooges.

Of course , each human lives their life in rather small bubbles but . . .
The media exposes us to the lives of others, those far out of our range.
We see things that most of us will never encounter , but now have some awareness of because the media reported on it.

Hehehe...In my younger, more naive years--maybe. These days, I don't believe a word they say--about anything. I've learned that the media is just as corrupt as any other organization--it prints what it is told to print (or says, i.e. TV/radio).
