A number of things could have happened, but likely, it was a free preview of the shows. They tend to do that now and then.

They have specials every couple of weekends, so you can preview the channels trying to persuade you to buy. That happened at my mom's all the time!

You probably hit their free TV promotion, which happens every so often as a way to get people to see what they offer and get you to buy their service. You can't get it now because you aren't paying for it.
