1) 200/2=50/x 100=50/x x=50/100=1/2

2) Monthly Charge= 4.95 +.5(hours of use)

1. Set up a ratio: 200 inches/50 inches = 2 hours/x hours
200/50 simplifies to 4/1, so 2 hours has to be four times as much as x hours. Divide 2 by 4 to get 0.5. It will take the snail 1/2 hour to travel 50 inches.

2. Start with y = since you need slope-intercept form.
$4.95 is your y-intercept, since you will never pay less than this; it does not change.
The variable x represents the number of hours, and the coefficient of x is 0.5 for the 50 cents it costs per hour. This becomes the slope.

So your equation looks like this: y = 0.5x + 4.95

Hope this helps! :)

You can't do these? For shame.
1 Principal : distance= velocity x time
Velocity is 200 inches/2 hours = 100 inch/hr
Then is the distance is 50 inch,
50 = 100 x time, time= 1/2 hour.

2. Intercept = $4.95 (you pay this whatever)
Slope = 50 cents / hour.
Then x= hours, y= cost ($)
y = 4.95 + 0.50 x

1). Set up proportion
200 in. 50 in.
____ _____

2 hrs ?

solve by using cross products 200x = 50 times 2
200x = 100 and divide 100 by 200 and get
.5 so its .5 hrs. or 60 misn in an hour so 60 times .5 is 30 minutes

2)...slope intercept form is y = mx + b
y = .50x + 4.95 because 4.95 is the monthley charge that u are going to have to pay plus the .50 for each hour (x stands for how many hours ) and y is equal to your total amount

well i hope that helps

1 is 30 minutes

2 is y=4.95x+50

theres the answers

for one u just divede the time up

and two is just putting it inot the slope form

there u go
