Umm I think there is a y variable you are missing in the first equation. Probably mistyped it. (Because if you subsitute with the equation you have written, x=-5 and none of the answers are -5,...)
x+3=-2

is it -2y? or 3y?

If so here's how to solve. (if -2y)
x=-3-2y

4 (-3-2y) = -12y-10
-12-8y= -12y-10
-12+4y = -10
4y=2
y=1/2
(considering you don't have 1/2 as on of your answers I'm now assuming that there wasn't a -2y). So the above equation is wrong.

Let's try with 3y:
x+3y=-2
4x=-12y-10

x=-3y-2
4 (-3y-2)= -12y-10
-12y-8=-12y-10
0=-2

answer: 4) no solutions.

Well, the cheap way to solve it would be to plug in the solution sets you have and see if they work. The better way:

x + 3 = -2
x = -5

(So right there we know the answer, but to continue...)

4x = -12y - 10
4(-5) = -12y - 10
-20 = -12y - 10
20 = 12y + 10

12y = 10
y = (5/6)

So none of the above. I suspect you mistyped the question.

x+3=-2
subtract 3 from each side
x=(-2-3)
x=(-2+-3)
x=-5

4x=-12y-10
since u already know that x=-5, substitute it for x in 4x
(4*-5)=-12y-10
-20=-12y-10
add a positive 10 on each side
(-20+10)=-12y
-10=-12y
divide both sides by -12
y=-10/-12
y=5/6 which is almost one

so i think the answer is 3

we solve the first equation for x by subtracting 3 from both sides
x=-5
we now substitute -5 in for x in the second equation.
4(-5)=-12y-10
-20=-12y-10
we now add 10 to each side to isolate the y
-10=-12y
we divide each side by -12
y=10/12
which can be reduced to
y=5/6.
so x=-5 and y=5/6

first u need to put one of them in x-form. so i choose x+3=-2. you subract 3 from both sides so now it becomes x=-5.
ok now u substitute x in the next equation: 4x=-12y-10.
4(-5)=12y-10
-20=12y-10 then u add 10 on both sides
-10=12y then u divide by 12
-10/12=y then u simplify
-5/6=y

THERE U GO. hope u do good on ur math!

if u ment
x+3y=-2
4x=-12y-10
then it is 4,-2
