I have a 2001 Chrysler Town and Country and when I turn my car off and take the keys out, the windshield wipers just keep going. What is the problem and how do I turn them off. ( I already checked the switch that turns them on and off, so it's more than a easy fix.)

Where is the fuse for the wipers to unhook?

in order to stop them from going all night, just pull the fuse for now. as long as it's not raining, you can just leave the fuse out until you get it in to a mechanic.

Hi,

Most wiper motors have a set of points inside that allow the motor to "park", ie shut off with the blades in their parked position. If these points can not be "tripped" the motor wil continue to run. Check to see that the wiper arms are not blocked from their full travel. Sometimes leaves, twigs and other crud can get trapped below the windshield line and impeede the wiper arms. Clean out this area if necessary to see if this will fix the problem. Sometimes a sharp tap on the motor with a rubber mallet will jar stuck points, but if this does stop the motor running, the fix is only temporay and the motor will need to be rebuilt or replaced.

Good luck

It sounds like they is something wrong with a wire somewhere,or the wiper motor could be malfunctioning cause somehow power is getting to the wipers when the vehicle is off cause most wipers wont work once the car is off. I would take it to a dealership and have an all points inspection done on it then they will tell you the problem.

There is an internal switch in the wiper motor housing that keeps fire going to the motor until the wiper blades are down. It works on a cam effect. Like old style points.

You didn't say if you have intermitent wipers. The motor may have a short and continuously leaves the wipers running. The switch wouldn't help
