I've always wondered this. And what's your favorite color?
Mine is blue. Always has been.

One theory I've held is that it might've been the first color I saw when I was born. Hmm. Good question, Ja?

The majority of babies respond to black and white patterns. ( You've probably seen those mobiles.)
Then, these same kids love the color red. I remember having a favorite dress in dark, primary red, when I was 3 or 4.

Most people develop a preference for one color range, such as all blues.
I know a few people who don't have a favorite color, but like several colors equally.

Best guess: We prefer seeing one color in our clothing and in our furnishings because it "makes us feel good", it fits our mood and so, we are attracted to it.
I love the color turquoise blue or aquamarine, the secondary color on a color wheel, halfway between blue and green.
I am not crazy about pink or yellow and I really dislike orange. (That last one makes me look olive green.)

As an aside:
When I was born, hospital staff wore white.
And, babies can't focus their eyes at birth; that happens a few days later.

I think in most cases it's probably not the first color you saw when you were born, because most peoples favorite color changes.I guess for you it could be though.
My theory is that everyone associates different colors with different thigs, ideas, feelings, etc. So their favorite color is what they associate with whatever they- I do't know quite how to say this but whatever they like most/ are most interested in/ comfortable with.
My favorite color changes all the time, and I usually have more than one, but in general brown, it's very calming, dow-to-earth, and, of course, the color of chocolate :-)

Mine is blue also. i don't know why. I just know that I feel calm yet assertive in blue. I doubt that blue was the first color I saw at birth. but my mother always liked me in pale blue and a lot of the baby photos she has of me, I am wearing blue. I tend to like all shades of blue though.

i wish i knew, maybe i could finally pick one. i dont have a favorite color. i cant say black, because while i wear a lot of black because i look good in it, ill see it in a painting, and hate it. or i will see a red flower, and think its pretty, and then ill see a red chair and think its the most hidious thing ive ever seen. and i never see much in the color pink that i actually like, but occasionaly ill see something pink and be completly excited by it. ive never had a favorite.

I've never understood people claiming to have favourite colours.

People who say they like red never go out wearing all red clothes and decorate their whole houses red.

Some colours are pleasant to look at (red, blue, green, yellow) and some aren't (grey, brown). People think they are supposed to have a favourite colour so they choose one of the pleasant ones at random and then stick to it.

That is not completely true. Environment and education determine someone's favourite colour. Especially when a child goes to preschool, favourite colour appears in a his/her mind
