I have ancestors who came from Europe in as early as 1597 with others in the 1690's with the last wave in the late 1800's.

While I do not agree with some of their actions their genes made me through no fault of mine. I am proud of my ancestors whoever they were. Most were simple farmers, as most people were. One ancestor in Virginia owned slaves which were set free at the time of his wife's death.

I don't believe Native Americans like the term redskins. That is tantamount to using the N word for an African American.

My people were on both sides in the French and Indian War. On the Colonial side in the American Revolution and the War of 1812. I had ancestors on both sides in the Civil War. One on the side of the North and 5 on the side of the Confederacy. My ancestors were not in the war with Mexico nor the Spanish- American war (not direct line) but we were in WWI, WWII, Korean era and Vietnam Era.

From family lore the only encounter we ever had with Native Americans was during the French and Indian War.

My ancestors were pretty common for European types who came to America. The French ancestors learned English and the Germans learned English, of course the English, Scottish and Irish already could speak English as it was in those days.

Bush's ancestors had similar experiences but he was not there at the time and so should not be blamed for the acts of his ancestors.

Wow - the neck tie is the white man's lash of slavery? I had no idea. Seriously - did you come up with that? Not bad.

And people all over the world *still* practice these things that have you so upset - you really should channel this anger into preventing what is going on *now* instead of lamenting a past that cannot be changed.

And why does it make *me* a bad person when I ask people like yourself if you would prefer to be living in Africa?

Comment: My ancestors were in Europe until 1880-1920. They had nothing to do with what happened here in the the United States of America up until that time. I feel absolutely no remores for what happened as it happened all acrost the world to many more people than just the American Indians. How many people did the Roman Empire enslave during it's time in the lime light? How many people did the Ottoman Empire enslave ? How many people were massacared during the Mongol Horde under Gegnas Khan? How many people were enslaved and died under the Egyptian Dynasties? Slavery and Massacares happened throughtout history and to all peoples at some point in time. It is about time that be recongnized and people live for themself instead of live under the yoke that befell their ancestors. Enough of the look what happened to my ancestors garble and move on with life.

For all the mistreatment blacks went through during slavery, at
least they now have economic opportunity. The Native Americans were herded onto reservations, lied to buy the US
government, and left there to become alcoholics.

BTW, why did you say "red skins" , but you did not use the term "black skins" ?

I'm pretty sure that President Bush has never owned slaves or massacred Native Americans.

I guess because he didn't realize that he would blamed for all that too. Why Bush? Why not those who still commit injustices today here in America.

I'm proud my people liberated the red and black man from idol gods and showed them the wickedness of their ways. If they chose to turn their backs on God that's their problem.
