Did Bucky use the Super Soldier serum like Captain America did, or was he just a regular guy?

hi was a geeky regular guy sidekick (think robin but lamer). after they brought him back from the dead as the winter soldier he had a slick robot arm.

just a regular person--as a matter of fact-Bucky was too young to be in the army so the company that Steve Rogers was in 'adopted' him as basically the camp 'mascot'.
