i landed on my back last saturday night when i went sledding with some friends and it still hurts. i can't lift as much and it somewhat hurts to bend over. is it something that will heal over time or should i get it looked at?

Probably not a fracture.. . . . probably.

You can see a physician to confirm it is not a fracture. They will check you over, make sure it is not life-threatening, and (most likely) medicate you.

If that does not work in terms of getting you back to full capability, you should see your physical therapist. The PT can help with the pain, and also help to get you moving again, lifting again.

Go to APTA.org, click on "find a PT" , and search your home area.

You should definitely get it checked out. Given the way you injured your back, you could possibly have a compression fracture of one or more vertebra--worst case scenario. You will need to get xrays or possibly an MRI done to rule this out.
