My mother also frequently dreams about her dead relatives as well. I have no idea what it means.

Dreams usually are a result of what's in your mind, all three levels of consciousness. I don't think it's possible for someone to visit your dreams. It's likely the frequent, vivid dreams you have about your grandparents are due to all the memories you have of them due to all the time with them you spent. It's possible that the horror of your mother's death combined with the relative lack of time you spent with your mother contributed to you not having any dreams about her. I'm terribly sorry for your loss. I hope that your mother is with God in heaven (if you believe in that anyway).

Your mom's death, which occurred during your childhood, was probably the most traumatic of all--especially the way in which it happened. You probably remember her the least, though, in spite of that fact.

Your grandparents were older, as were you. They raised you to adulthood, and their memories are more clear in your mind.

I dreamt, when I was 20 that my mom had died, and yet came back and rang our doorbell. I told my dad about it the next morning--but he died, about two weeks later. I took it as some kind of twisted premonition.

The only grandfather I ever knew died back when I was only 8 years old. I felt terribly, as I was not allowed to attend his wake and funeral (the parents and my grandmother felt that I was too young to attend). I had a dream many years later that I was with him in the hospital (he actually died at home). It was so real--and I felt as though I finally got to say goodbye to him.

I dream about a favorite aunt frequently because I have many memories of her & what we did together.

I have never dreamt about a grandfather I never knew well.

I think we dream about people we knew well, enjoyed & loved & miss.

I'm not one to believe that they are visiting us. I do think that when I dream about someone I know or knew its because something during the day reminded me of them even if I wasn't consciously aware of it.

depending on what you believe, the spirits of your relatives are probably visiting you in your dreams. As far as your mother not visiting, either she isn't ready, or you aren't, or possibly she doesnt use dreams to contact you, she might leave dimes laying around, send birds, butterflys, etc. but like i said it depends on what you believe. i hope this helped.

it could mean that they represent a family line- meaning that maybe you might expect to have a child. another interpretation could mean that they took care of you all those years and knew they are the only ones will be there for you. they letting you know that they are still there and watch over you.

Since you were so young when your mom died, maybe you don't have as many memories of her?
