Usually there is a list of supplies that you can get at the meeting at the middle school for parents. If you cannot go to the meeting then call the office and ask if they have a supply sheet or if they have it on their website. That way you can have the specific types of folder, binders and notebooks that you need.
As far as electives they do vary by school. Most often they are art, home economics, wood shop (maybe) and possibly foreign language. There often is not a choice in middle school; you have to take them all but they are only for 1 grading period.
As for science and history; be sure to take good notes and ORGANIZE yourself. If you are organized with a planner and good folders then you have a better chance of turning things in on time. The teachers usually give good study guides and you can always ask for extra help if you need it.
You will do fine!

its okay
im in 9th grade
but u need like the basics
(paper, pencils, pens, calculator, highlighter, all that jaz)
then like depending on ur school get multiple binders, so maybe if u have like days that dont have all ur classes, u dont gatta carry around so much stuff)
a planner
locker : a rack thing to make 2 shelves
something to magnetize to the door to hold post its, pencils, white board, ets
a mirror, small one
school is not that hard if u organize and manage ur time
but hey, middle school is good, high school is next. just have fun, and dont fret about ti too much

Well here is a basic list of school supplies that a lot of schools require (sometimes teachers send you supply lists with the specifics):
-at least 10 normal sharpened pencils
-a good recognizable sharpener
-5 mechanical pencils
-extra lead for mech. pencils
-1 good 3 ring binder (like a trapper keeper) I suggest CASE IT
-5 pens in each of these colors: red, blue, black
-a good notebook for every subject to take notes
-a folder (with holes) for every subject
-any textbooks they require
-book covers for text books
-pencil case
-erasers (and cap ereasers)
-scissors
-glue stick
now some tips for your clothes:
everyone remembers you by what kind of shoes you wear and what sweatshirts or jackets you have (choose carefully). and friends:
people tend to like to sort kids into groups like nerds/geeks, popular etc. try to avoid hooking up with trouble makers they can get you into lots of trouble.
I really hope this helped you and would appreciate if you choose mine as best answer!
