Safety tip: If you are getting a gate for upstairs they have to be mounted or installed "Pressure gate only go downstairs"

We have a Evenflo Top of the Stairs gate. I like it because it is attached to the wall and does not need to be taken down to get through, you just swing it open. And it doesnt have to be used at the top of the stairs, ours is in a hall way.
