there are some liberal morons on here who post nothing but "bush is bad" and other lying liberal crap, and they have "top contributor" under their name.

Does anyone know how these 'shallow gene pool swimmers' received the obvious ironic title?

Dude? There's way too much caffeine, in your Coffee. I know what you're sayin'? But we have to attack these Lib's with facts, not name calling. That's their line. Let YA do what they want. We just convince others that Lib's aren't the way to go? ans leave the name-calling to them.

The top contributor title appears to be about the # of best answers. Yahoo only recently started showing the top contributor for each user that had it as if it means their answers lend more weight. It doesn't, it just means (especially amongst political and government), their answers are chosen as the best politically expedient among their friends. I have a slightly higher percentage of best answers due to the time I take in researching and answering the question to the best of my ability (of course a few have been outright satire).

A better standard would be Percentage of Best Answers, oh and note which category they have that title in. If it is in areas like computers, math, science, and such, then it would have weight (their answers). If it is in politics, then I would take their answers with the grain of salt you take others.

I was wondering about that too. After reading the responses I must agree. How can a Level One with 107 points possibly become a "Top Contributor."

This was Yahoo Teams worst idea ever!

Top contributors are 10 ppl with the most best answers in each sub-section of a category.

Btw, I don't elaborate on your questions because they are clearly biased and not looking for real answers...

Seems like "top contributor" only means they have posted a lot of questions or answers in one particular category. In other words, they spend a LOT of time on Y!A. Why this is notable, I have no idea!

The reason I say this is that SOME (not all!) of the accounts labeled "top contributor" have barely intelligible questions and/or answers, in great quantities, but not of great quality. It doesn't seem to have anything to do with best answers, as I have seen accounts with only 4% best answer named as top contributor in a certain category. It has more to do with sticking with one category to answer questions, thus having a majority of answers in that category.

There are many contributors in this site just asking if Republicans are bad and answered by their critics as, "yes". It is the reason that they became top contributors.

It seems to be bestowed by a Yahoo worker. I see no correlation between best answers or even number of answers. I believe it is just given to those this particular Yahoo worker likes or picks.

I think only people with a high level get that title. Like level 4 and up.

Maybe if many people vote your answer as best or question as best in a certain category.
I prefer employee of the month at Walmart , now that would be heaven!

I win! I win! Okay, so I haven't earned one in politics yet, but just keep giving good answers, maybe lighten up on the stereotypes and you should earn yourself a title.
