If I can't do that then at least leave it as a no worse place.

Leaving something interesting behind isn't a bad goal. Whether or not it makes the world a better place is something only history can prove. Leaving random cool things in odd places is another decent goal.

Great question. I would like to leave the world a better place because of me . I would like to leave having my family know how much I loved them. Knowing that I had integrity , a sense of humor and compassion. Hopefully they would take on some of those qualities I believe I have and give them to their family (and friends) and on and on and on. And then someday my goal would truly become reality as would theirs.
That would be my intent in life.

I don't believe I have that big of an impact on the world. Only on my kids and maybe some people I am close to. My goals are more mundane than that. Basically I want to provide well for my kids, raise them to be well adjusted adults and lead a good, happy life.

A quote from a movie, "One drop raises the ocean"

If my one drop (life) helps then great. I would be very happy.
But i dont see the world being a better place becuase of one person, but many.

Honestly, when i leave this world, i would have liked to make a small impact. You know, even if its just one person's world, i'd like to help out a little.

It's not necessarily my goal but I believe it's the inevitable effect nevertheless.

absolutely! Each one of us can make a difference. We can teach our children to make a difference and so we 'touch' the future by igniting the flame of selflessness in others.
make a difference for the better!

Nah, not really. I'm just selfish, but because of the way thing work, selfish people get together and become altruistic.
