Hi barb, How sad that you have come to the stage where, even though you love someone, you know that they love someone else. It must be hard for you, but I am sure that you would want someone to love you as much as you love them. Take this person out for a meal and have a great time. At the end of the date, when you say goodnight, smile, give them a hug and hand them a note. In this note you should say that, because you love them so much, you are willing to let them go because you are aware that they love someone else and that you want them to be happy. Say it would not be fair to you to go on like this. Tell them that you want to move on, and that you will be ok. Wish them all the best.
In time, you will get over this and you will find someone to love who will love you back the same. There is a saying that goes: 'If you love someone let them go, if they come back, they are yours, if they don't they never was.' You appear to be very honourable, and I wish you all the best for the future. :o)

You don't have to tell them. You don't have to leave just because the person likes someone else. Show support and be there for them. Of course, I may not be seeing it all. Are you hurt by the fact that they like someone else? (I know, that is probably a stupid question) If so, then it gives you all the more reason to not say good-bye.

Tell them you know. Tell them you Love them that much, and tell them it wouldn't be fair to you or to them to keep things as they are. It is the truth and it does hurt, but it is what is real. What is real is what is best. False Love is worse than even genuine hatred. A fake friend is worse than a true enemy. What really does exist is better than any dream. Lies may feel better for a while but the truth shows through no matter what and living a lie will only hurt worse in the end. You can quote me on that if you want. I can feel your pain. Just go tell them you know about the other guy tell them you want them happy & that you know you no longer make her so. Then just walk away..... Dont let her see you hurt & dont hurt just move on. If she tries to stop you or "talk about it" you can always do or say something within the legal side of the law that will make her so mad she'll hate you. LOL good luck sounds like you are better off leaving....

You have drama issues. Are you a mind reader? You have no idea what is on their mind. Hang around have a good time, be nice. Don't sleep with her anymore. Start dating a variety of other woman (don't sleep with them either) When she sees you moving on, you will become more attractive to her. (People always want what someone else has) The one you think she loves probably doesn't even give her the time of day.

If you know he loves someone else, then tell him that. Tell him how much you love him and care for him and thats why you want him to be 100% happy even if that means its not with you.
Tell him he needs to be with this other love, and if things dont work out, then maybe you two will have a chance to get back together?

I really can't understand the other people posting answers.
To be honest, if I'm in love with a guy, I'd rather keep him if he chooses to be with me, and he still treats me well.
Maybe I'm crazy, but what makes one more jealous;
1- getting dumped for the other women/guy or,
2- having the guy u love and what the other can't have?
To add more, i consider u lucky, bcoz a lot of other women can't be with the one they love, and I've loved one guy or two before I was married who didn't give a crap about my feelings...I guess I'm just being rebellious thru u!
I've exprienced many love scenarios, and i know what I'm talking about!

Tell this person you understand and want them to be happy and not to worry about you. You dont want to be with someone who has feelings for another person when they should have those feelings for only you. You should have to go through that. You dont need the stress or worry. Tell that person goodbye. Good Luck to you.

well.. the question is kind of blurry for me.
are you guys together? because if you are then it would almost be seemingly impossible for the other person to be in love with another person. and, since, you are still together, that means you still have a chance to "win" him back to your side.
but, if worse comes to worse and you have to really say goodbye, i think it will be in your intuition to say it out loud, becasue every goodbye has a different way and will depend on the flow of the conversation.
but, for me, try to give it one last chance, one last push. who knows? maybe this is just an obstacle course for you and not really the break season
