I need you to clarify something first. Are you talking about purchasing email addresses for the purpose of solicitation via spam? or do you mean give customers an email account with your company?

If you're talking about solicitation, I really advise against that! Very few people ever read those type of messages and I'm not sure about the legality of that, let alone the unethical practice for both the party selling and those buying. I think you'd do better to invest in web ads, such as with Google, and depending on your business' nature, some websites will sell advertising space for less that it would be with a business like Google. I really like Google's program adsense, which I participate in, which basically means that I put Google ads on my website and get referral fees. They target the ads so they are related to the content of the website (for instance, won't put a car dealership ad on a site about babies, but they'll find websites in the program about cars and automotives to put the ads on).

Check out this page: http://www.google.com/intl/en/ads/

Better investment of your money! Ads for your business on relevant pages, and higher likelihood of bringing folks to your site (i.e., targeted audience) vs. blindly putting out spam which would be read by hardly anyone and you never know if the ones who read it would be interested in such a thing....like a car dealership spam message for someone who is disabled and can't ever drive! LOL

On the other hand, if you're talking about buying email accounts like with web hosting, say to give free email accounts to customers, I have that with 1and1.com. Their business hosting package offers 3 domains and 1500 potential email accounts. I'm sure other companies do the same thing and some might sell a bunch of accounts like that without having to sign up for a hosting package in addition. You'll just have to do some research into that.

It is unethical, since people don't agree to recieve them, but an easy way to get email addresses is to make or download a program that searches sites on the internet for xxxxx@yahoo.com, or xxxxx@hotmail.com, ect (xxxxx being anything). It actually just searches for "@yahoo.com", or "@hotmail.com", and and then saves what was in front of it and the @yahoo.com or @hotmail.com to a file, and presto, you have a very large list of valid email addresses - for the most part...
