I've come across so many questions where the asker wants sympathy based on their situation, but ends up being trashed instead. What did they actually think they were going to get as an answer. I can see that they weren't thinking.

ughhh i knowwwwwww i totally know wat you're talking abt..i posed a similar question earlier too..i mean first of all people ask these ridiculous questions that you can google up and find an answer quickly and more efficiently than posting it here..for example, people are like "what are the five longest rivers in the world" ..i mean people are gonna give the same five answers over and over again so there's no point in asking it..people should ask more thought-provoking questions that require introspection and various viewpoints

and the thing abt sympathy, i see that mostly in relationship section where they describe their sappy stories and ask for your advice. what's more annoying is that you know that those weaklings will NOT follow your advice what-so-ever. i mean if a guy cheats on you, then DUMP his lousy *** and move on..what's the point of asking US the question..and even if we say that she should dump him, she's prolly not gonna because if she was going to, she wouldn't try to ask that question online to reinforce her doubts...

and wat abt those homework questions? i mean come on, do your own freaking research and stop asking other people..incompetent, lazy *** kids

anyways..people aren't as smart as us and they're not gonna change so might as well accumulate as many points as we can from their dumb questions lol..it's for fun anyways..not like it helps anyone because no one answers the questions that really need thinking (such as math and physics problems and equations)

Well I for one have been trashed for a question well I wouldn't really call it trashed but they were kinda rude. I ask questions that I want opinions about or don't know the answer to sometimes so I ask for help. I never ask sympathy questions though that is for sure. That kind of stuff stays with me at home. I go to college online and so I ask questions sometimes to people online about my college questions/work. I'll even refer to the question as I need help with a homework question and in return they are like do your own homework and I think that is rude and a waste of time and just a way for them to get easy points and not really help anyone but themselves. It doesn't say you can't ask question that have to do help for your homework so its like just help the person out already. I know I try to answer questions no matter what type they are. If I know the answer or have an opinion then I will give it with no hesitation about it.

A lot of times a good question gets bashed simply because the asker spells poorly. Those who are poor spellers should be sure to use 'check spelling' every time they ask or answer a question.

Other times people get 'bad' answers because they succeeded in ending a bad relationship--but write that they want advice on how to get back into it.

Many people asking political or religious questions should know, before hand, that they are bound to get terrible responses--as these two subjects are so contraversial.

Some people simply ask dumb questions, maybe on purpose--maybe not. Either way, they shouldn't expect intelligent answers to such questions.

some people just think that everyone cares that they're upset and just "boo-hoo" to the world...i ask questions for public opinion on surverys or something...i keep the sympathy stuff to myself...i mean, i dont even know anyone on here!! but i guess it's okay to ask for sympathy because sometimes u just gotta let it out and maybe they dont have someone to listen 2...we should htink about that
but remember...some people do it cuz no one else cares, others do it cuz they want attention

everybody that i know of, keep some "band" individuals, in many situations calls us to say they are dropping by. I do take exhilaration in the decision because I have 7 cats and that i have blankets positioned round on furnishings that i might want to wish to take off. i'm no longer worried about a sparkling homestead, because mine is continually sparkling and tidy. i'm in Canada. to those who do drop in unannounced, I cause them to sense very welcomed.

Some people have nothing to do. They try to kill time by spending all their time with Yahoo answer. They do not to think about what they are going to ask. If they think ahead they do not have anything to ask here. Yahoo answers would become deserted and boring. Ignore them.

I think these are the same people that have no lives and probably spend all their time on YahooAnswers!
