The United States is not exactly an empire in the sense of the Roman Empire and others of the past. Until recently the U.S. had not been a perpetrator or warrior nation: annexing or conquering unwilling sovereign countries. The present situation in the world is such that for the U.S.A. to "fall" as did those ancient empires would doubtlessly require a war of global proportions; almost certainly such a conflict would involve nuclear destruction with the entire world in danger of extinction. Although the Islamic terrorists detest our country and will be planning and endeavoring to destroy us, they surely will be prevented from precipitating any sort of nation-wide catastrophe. All that being said, nothing is forever, and the United States one day will cease to exist, at least in its current form -- hopefully, not in our lifetimes!

If by that you mean it will get run over by some other group and start a new empire and begin thermonuclear warfare and destroy Earth (and Mars), then yes. But seriously, yes no one nation will remain in power forever. You also must remember that, comparatively speaking, the US is a young country (only about 230 years old). It WILL change, but not necessarily for the worse. Greece and Rome had many great accomplishments that helped to shape the world as we know it today.

Rome became continually at conflict, which paved its way for its enlargement. ultimately, they overextended themselves and could no longer save up with the demands their empire demanded. Greece consisted of too many city-states with each and each desirous to save their own autonomy. Athens emerged no longer as a hegemon, yet as a ruler of an empire, coming up garrisons on different ?????? (city-states) and subsequently obviously irritating the administration of that polis' interior sight affairs. If we do flow by technique of what got here about to Rome and Greece, then truthfully sure the impression of the u . s . is waning. If certainly a conflict on Iran is planned with a accessible attack on North Korea, the already stretched protection stress could get added prolonged prompting more suitable stress on the commercial equipment and its already immensely accrued debt. So the u . s . is like Rome at conflict and lengthening its empire. it truly is like Athens the position it intervenes in a u . s .'s interior sight affairs.

I think so. My own guess is that it will break up into several smaller nations in the next 50-100 years. You can see a lot of the signs in that many states are starting to get fed up with the federal government. Look at the prescription laws and immigration/illegal aliens. They are starting to act on their own. The first cracks?
