con: you have to go to the post office to get your mail.
pro: your mail is less vulnerable to pilfering or identity theft
con: large things won't fit in your box and you will have to go wait in line and pick them up when the post office is open. but your mailbox may have the same issue
con: po box costs money
con: sometimes you have to have a real address not a po box.
con: people might think you are homeless if you don't have a street address
pro: you can move and keep the same address

In business, the biggest advantage is that you have a mailing address without having to have an actual business location or give out your home address. The biggest disadvantage is that people tend to view you as a fly-by-night operation because it appears that you don't have an actual business location. Personally, I would never send money to a PO Box unless I knew the company I was dealing with.
