get it flushed and change the filter.you take care or the car from now on and show your wife what oil goes where and how to check it.Then after all that is done take her out to dinner. (to the wife)-----you did good trying to fix your car but dont use motor oil in transmissions or trans oil in engines, find out the differences in the two and where to fill each and you will be ok if you ever have to fill it again.Oh and give your old man a spanking for not filling it for you.

Get it drained, flushed and refilled ASAP. Don't drive it until you do this. If you need to get it to a shop have it towed. If it has a filter change the filter. And spank yourself for not showing your wife how to maintain your vehicle. Then spank her again for not asking. If the oil is the wrong viscosity it can be very damaging especially in an automatic transmission. To much to explain here. You can just now hope for the best. I would strongly recommend using a credible transmission shop.

I wonder which one of you is the moron. Why is she driving a car that was low on oil. Your the one that deserves the spanking. At least she was trying to correct a problem that you created. How did you find out about it. The engine oil will ruin the transmission. It needs to be flushed out post-haste. Keep your hands off your wife you bully.

dOES IT MATTER ABOUT THE CAR AT THIS POINT AFTER YOU ALREADY SPANKED HER? MY RESPONSE IS THAT THE man TAKES CARE OF THE CAR. THAT INCLUDES GAS, OIL, AND A WASH AND WAX AS A SUPRIZE ONCE IN A WHILE IS NICE TOO. SO MY SUGGESTION IS ITS TIME YOU BEND OVER AND TAKE THE LICKIN' THAT YOU GOT COMING AND THEN YOU START TAKING CARE OF THE WIFES CAR FOR HER FROM NOW ON!!!!!!! No telling what you may get in exchange, sure won't be tranny fluid in the oil. Which my vote says you got problems! sorry dude.

I would change the oil. Soon. The viscosity is not the same as tranny oil. As well some of the additives are different. Some may say leave it. If they are right no problem if they are wrong $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ out of your pocket. Better safe than broke.

Do not drive it, have an ASE certified shop specializing in transmission work give you their opinion, if it hasnt been run that much, my guess is that the tanny will need to be flushed, maybe a little more, but thats my guess.

Look up you transmission capacity in your owner's manual. 12:1 probably wouldn't hurt. If you drain it & change it it will dilute to 24:1, since the torque converter will still be full. Some Lube Stores like "Insta-lube" have a pump system that circulates in new fluid while your engine is running.
