Nomar will play first primarily. He may PH every three or four days to stay rested and injury free. He will DH in interleague play. Nomar is the number one or two bat on the Dodgers, but is not being relied on for his glove or arm. I don't see him playing anywhere but first on the field. Look for Loney in the 7th or 8th as a defensive replacement.

Oh Nomar by using a techniques. beneficial, Jeter have been given greater exposure and popularity, yet nomar became into arguably the best offensive (besides a-rod) shortstop interior the MLB on the time. the 1st to hit 35 abode runs in a season, and he did it greater suitable than as quickly as. additionally, he had greater useful selection then Jeter. anybody thinks Jeter is a few protection-god because of the fact of his famed performs like the diving into-the-stands seize (which he made until now he have been given to the stands!) and his relay to Jorge Posada. fact is, he's a sensible shielding participant, yet not an remarkable one. Nomar has had articles written purely approximately his protection, which wasn't even his solid factor. Base on all of this, i'd easily say Garciaparra became into the greater useful shortstop.

No the Dodgers traded to get Betemit from Atlanta. Nomar when healthy gives them a very solid bat. Playing him at first keeps the risk of his getting injured to a minimal. Betemit should benefit from a full season knowing he is the man starting at third. In Atlanta he always knew someone else was getting the go with Chipper there.

It seems like its a 50-50 chance. It sounds like a good idea in the sense that Loney looks ready to start and Loney hasnt done too well in the outfield so far.
Then we could use Betemit as a utility player for second and third base and then use Andy La Roche as trade bait to package with Penny for a midseason trade.

If he moves, lower your expectations for games played. And increase your expectations for a season ending injury.
I think Grady sees the same thing and will probably get Olmedo Sáenz and Ramon Martinez into the lineup at 3B.
