This is a way children learn consequences to actions they take. She doesn't understand the concept of gravity...until she falls a few times (whether you are around or not, so make sure to have a gate at any stairs you may have!).

It is inevitable, she will fall or dive. Show her the right way and she will pick it up very quickly.

HAHA! My 10 month old has started doing the same thing. I have laid her down on her tummy and she pushes herself off feet first that way and is so proud of doing it herself. But she is ready to jump out of our arms if she wants to get down, I swear she will be walking within a week! Good luck to you! I think we both have bumped heads in our future.
