There are two parts to this question in regard to the same thing.
1) Do the Ottawa Senators of today recognize the team statistics and records of the older Senators teams?
2) Did the ORIGINAL Senators team (which ceased operations after the 1930-31 season) recognize the statistics and records amassed thus far when they resumed operations for the 1932-33 season?
I know they moved to St. Louis in 1934, but are the stats and records assumed by the current NHL team?

officially, no.
They are two separated frachises... even thou they share the same name. There is no connection between the two frachises aside from the team name, the city they play in and a certificate that was issued by the NHL with the new Senators franchise, proclaiming reinstatement to the league.
Just like the Blues do not include stats of the Eagles, Flyers do not include stats of the Quakers, Wild do not grab stats from the North Stars etc... Banners *honouring* the original Senators' ten Stanley Cups hang from the rafters of Scotiabank Place.

The current Senators recognize the records of the older and Original Senators teams. I'm not sure what the Blues think of the St. Louis Eagles.

I think the original senators did recognize stats & records.
But i think the senators today don't know about the past senator team stats...i don't think they're interested in it. Although there are like 9 canadians on the team today, the majority of the team probably wouldn't be familiar with past stats.

no. i'm pretty sure the "old" senators won the stanley cup, but when you talk about senators today, they are a cupless team. so i'm guessing they dont carry statistics.
