I want to give my boyfriend's mother in Japan a nice gift from America, what would be a good gift? Some house item, or fashion accessory or nice gourmet gift.... something classy and particularly American. Can you think of anything? I wanna spend $30-70.

You just cant get the same quality thick towels in Japan that you can in the US -- if you can, they are very expensive. In other words, even a cheaper set of towels from Target will appear to be an expensive gift because of what similar items cost in Japan, so its a win-win situation. definite. jointly as the jap economic equipment is extra physically powerful than ours, they're incredibly simular in residing standards. an american greenback is approximately one hundred yen on time-honored. by technique of my calculations on the instant 50$ is approximately 5050 yen. A McD hamburger is approximately a hundred and sixty yen. So for a 10 3 hundred and sixty 5 days previous 5050 yen is a first rate present. a great single mattress lodge room is approximately 10,000 yen for one evening. So with 50 dollars switched over to jap money your ten 3 hundred and sixty 5 days previous could have the means to get a attractiveness variety teddy bear,or a iteration game boy progressed game (in spite of the actuality that it may be in jap and illegible for somebody non-fluent in jap),or a race motor vehicle music from a wal-mart equivilent, or approximately 2 great lego projects, or approximately 13 booster packs of Yo-Gi-Oh! determining to purchase and merchandising game enjoying cards.

Nuts are very expensive and are an exotic treat over there. They seem to enjoy pine nuts a good deal.

Their techno gizmos and fasion matches or exceeds our own so just avoid these genres all together.

Novelty items might be a treat for her.

I had a Japanese roommate when I was in college and she was so excited to get perfumes and department store cosmetics. It is so much more expensive in Japan.
