F**k all these Mazda haters. I've got an 2001 Protege ES. I've turboed it and it totally flies. Beats the hell out of civics and scions and mustang GTs(at least the older ones) I have witnesses! I've never had any problems with it. I love it and will never trade it in.

whatever you do, dont put that stupid fart pipe sounding exhaust on it....it sounds like a broken muffler.... why not just drive it and be happy you are getting good mileage from the 1.6L engine
