Well, this question is best answered in three questions. What do you want that language to do? How adept are you at programming in the first place? When is the programming project due? My personal favorite is PHP. This is an excellent language for server side programming and has a balance of simplicity to learn and power, but lacks some of the power of Java. Now for programming an application (not webs) it depends on speed demands and time to create the application. Basic is fast to design, but poor in performance. C is fast in performance, but more difficult and time consuming to code. C++ is a good balance of both while also offering object oriented design. So it is really up to you and where you feel comfortable as well as making sure you get the work done on time.

I have programed with .Net, Java, PHP.

I would say that Java is better than .Net for this reasons:

- There are excelent IDEs (the software you use for programming) freeware, this is great because you don't need to pay to learn or work.

- The versions are always changing in order to keep Java updated with hardware and an easier and safe programming.

- It has 3 platforms, SE (Stand alone Desktops applications), ME (Mobile applications), EE (Enterprise applications, web, and all that)

I believe that are the most important reasons that has Java to be the best.

It depends on personal preference and what you intend on doing.
.NET is an application that allows you to compile various programming languages.

This is from the wikipedia page on .NET

The Microsoft .NET Framework is a software component that can be added to the Microsoft Windows operating system. It provides a large body of pre-coded solutions to common program requirements, and manages the execution of programs written specifically for the framework. The .NET Framework is a key Microsoft offering, and is intended to be used by most new applications created for the Windows platform.

I have .NET on my laptop and I use it for HTML, BASIC, and C++.

If you're just starting out, I recommend that you start with C++ and study assembly language after you understand programming better.

There's no right answer to that. It's like asking whether a screwdriver or wrench is a better tool --- well are you working with a nut or screw?

If you mean the most versatile and well-developed language it's probably Java. But it, like all languages has it's weaknesses and applications you should NOT use it for. Nor would it be my first choice for a beginner to learn.

Microsoft seen Studio exhibit covers lots of the above languages, yet no longer all. case in point, it would not conceal Java, Hypertext Preprocessor, Python, or sq. (sq. isn't a programming language besides). It does conceal VB.internet, ASP.internet (If memory serves), C#, C++, HTML (back, if memory serves), and others. It additionally facilitates you to handle sq. Server databases, so which you will practice writing sq. statements. this is unfastened from Microsoft, so which you do no longer ought to pay for it the two! i'm hoping this facilitates.

i would prefer java. programming languages are designed for different purposes. so depending on what you need to do, different programming languages are efficient in different ways. but for general uses, java is the best followed by c++.

There is no such thing. There are more or less suitable languages for the task you wish to perform. You might consider a Ferarri the 'best' car, but you wouldn't take it off-road. There are more suitable vehicles for that task. And a Jeep wouldn't perform well on the race track.
