how many valve cover gaskets are there in a 1997 lexus es 300?

i went to kragen and bought one, but when i checked on napa, they have listed a right and a left valve cover gasket... i thought it was just one

Why would you buy a valve gasket when you don't know how to change it ? If it's a V6 or V8, it will need 2. If it's a straight 6, it would only need one. You have to know what engine you have before they can give you the correct gasket.
