you have to put some oil on it if you havent already, you can buy it at any sports store that sells baseball stuff. i personally use glove-oleum. you put some oil on a rag and rub it on the plam of the glove, but not too much, and then i put either a baseball or a softball inside of the glove and tie a thick string like a shoelace around the outside. let it sit for a few hours and you can do it again. also make sure you play some catch with it because catching balls with it helps break it in alot. hope this helps.

Absolutely DO NOT use the stuff that is sold for a hot glove treatment.....IE, DO NOT put your glove in the oven. Yes it will be soft right away, but then in a year or so, you'll be buying a new glove when your laces are brittle and the inside lining starts coming apart.

The best was is to use a good glove oil (Rawlings Glove-olium and the Wilson lanolin based cream is best). Start at the palm and work outward. Less is more. Wipe away the excess, and start bending the glove back and forth, pounding a ball in the pocket, and breaking up those leather fibers. The better the glove, the longer this will probably take. Put a ball (or two) in the pocket, tie the glove up and let it sit over night. Then the next day, keep pounding, play catch, etc.... tie it up again at night, and repeat.

As far as purchasing a glove, the best gloves out there are the Rawlings Pro Preferred and Heart of the Hide, Wilson's A2K and A2000, and the TPX Pro series from Louisville Slugger (especially their mitts). Stay away from Mizuno (except the very high end stuff), and Nocona (boot company). These gloves are soft at first but won't last. Worth is worthless. And Nike....well, don't buy baseball gear of any kind from a shoe company. None of the serious baseball stores carry their stuff.

You can't go wrong with Rawlings or Wilson. And stay off the internet to buy them, fakes are out there all over the place. And its worse for bats......several chinese import rings have been discovered, and there's more out there. Estimates are that 65% of ALL bats sold on the internet are fakes, stolen, or misrepresented (IE, claim to be warranted when their not)

You oil it, put a baseball in it, and wrap it up with a rubber band. You can also stuff it between your mattress and box springs like that while you sleep.
